MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS TO 'BRIDGE OF LOVE'

WINNER: 1995 inaugural Golden Guitar Award for 'Vocal Collaboration of the Year'.
NOMINATED: 1995 Golden Guitar Awards in categories 'Song of the Year' ('Bridge of Love' music and lyrics by Roger Corbett) and 'Music Video of the Year' ('Bridge of Love' direction/cinematography by Warren Lynch).

#1 on the Australian country music charts in December 1994. Most-played country music track on Australian community radio 1994.

HUMANITARIAN COMMENDATIONS FOR BRIDGE OF LOVE PROJECT

1994 press release was distributed by former NSW premier, the Hon. John Fahey, commending the 'Bridge of Love Project' as an outstanding national campaign to aid children from its point of foundation and production in NSW. John Fahey visited Faulconbridge Primary school with a news media entourage and had photographs taken with children who participated in the Bridge of Love choir.
Melanie Williamson was invited to speak at the United Nations Association (NSW) 'Rights of the Child Forum' at NSW Government House in early 1995, receiving acknowledgement on behalf of the Australian country music industry for efforts made to assist children.

OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENTS FOR BRIDGE OF LOVE PROJECT

The Bridge of Love Project, incorporating the song 'Bridge of Love' as recorded by the Australian Family of Country Music, was accredited by the Australian Government as the official music project of the International Year of the Family for Australia.

The Bridge of Love Project is an official Australian awareness-raising endeavour for the 20th Anniversary International Year of the Family, an initiative of the United Nations. Australia celebrates National Families Week 15-21 May 2014. The UN-designated theme for this year's international campaign is: 'Stronger Families, Stronger Communities'.

All proceeds from the Bridge of Love Project are directed towards Barnardos Australia for their continuing work with vulnerable children and young people in our communities.
